Valerie Faye Bautista

VAL started her underwater journey in 2015 when she discovered her passion for freediving and scuba diving, taking her filmmaking and photography skills to an underwater level.

In 2017, she founded Azul Freediving as a Certified RAID Freediving Instructor and Dive Center. Since then, she collaborated with other reputable instructors in providing classes in world-class facilities such as Amanpulo and Busuanga Bay Lodge. Azul hasbeen awarded internationally for providing exceptional services.

Her commitment to the oceans has taken her to the most beautiful islands and designed Freediving Retreats around the Philippines and Maldives.
In 2019, VAL initiated “Project Silay” dedicated to providing snorkels to coastal children, such as Sama Dilaut and Ilongot Tribe. It offers marine awareness and preservation education. She collaborates closely with the Department of Tourism and LGUs in helping implement freediving regulations and identify potential freediving sites.

Her adventurous spirit extends beyond the ocean’s horizon, as she finds solace in the grandeur of mountains. In 2017, she did a solo climb on Mt. Fuji, and conquered the iconic Mt. Everest Base Camp in 2018. She has also embraced the Philippine terrain, with a day hike to the summit of Mt. Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines. Her life’s mission is a testament to the extraordinary beauty that lies beneath the waves and the boundless potential of those who dare to explore it.
