Be Part of the Largest Official Dive Show in the Philippines!
The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) hosted the first (1st) Philippine International Dive Expo (PHIDEX) in the seaside complex of Conrad Hotel on September 20-22, 2019, from 10am to 7pm. The second edition of PHIDEX is scheduled in the third quarter of year 2020.
“We are staging the PHIDEX to solidify the Philippines’ position as a topnotch travel and business center in the global diving industry.” said DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat.
PHIDEX continues to have the participation of dive travel and trade stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, and National Tourism Organizations (NTO). PHIDEX will gather distinguished VIPs, leaders, and influencers from across the globe such as renowned scientists, marine conservationists, and underwater photographers and videographers to meet, network, share stories, and exchange ideas.

For the first time, local and international speakers interacted with the live audience at a dive expo in the Philippines. The international speakers include Ahmed Gabr from Egypt, a Guinness World Record Holder In Scuba Diving 332.35M, Faisal Jawad Hashim from Kuwait, a Guinness World Record Holder for the fastest 10km Scuba Dive in 5 Hours & 24 minutes, David Strike from Australia, Lynn Funkhouser from USA, Prahlad Kakar from India, Cai Songda from China, Hidy Yu from Hong Kong, Mike Bartick from USA, Valentine Thomas from Canada, Stan Gonia from Germany, Yolanda Yao from China, Stéphane Dugast from France, Conny Jeppson from Sweden, Aaron Wong from Singapore and many more.
Celebrity speaker Sarah Lahbati was on stage too, along with the local veteran speakers who showcased the pristine Philippine diving scene to the international audience in PHIDEX 2019 included Alex Santos, Bo Mancao, James Omac, Juan Naval, Noel Guevara, Odessa Bugarin, Ram Yoro, Roni Ben-Aharon, and many more.
Dive Travel Exchange (TRAVEX)
PHIDEX is the only dive show in the region to organize a Dive Travel Exchange (TRAVEX), a series of business-to-business (B2B) for the growing number of Philippine dive establishments to engage in meaningful networking discussions with foreign buyers during the exhibition proper.
46 international buyers representing top dive operators from 21 source markets and 36 local sellers of dive tourism products and services from top and emerging destinations in the Philippines attended PHIDEX 2019 and participated in the Dive TRAVEX to meet and discuss business opportunities through one-on-one business-to-business (B2B) meetings.
