Tara Abrina is a published marine economist affiliated with the University of the Philippines. She is also an activist and member of the Advocates for Science and Technology for the People or AGHAM Diliman. In 2015, Tara broke two Philippine women’s records for freediving. As an AIDA International freediving instructor, she founded Kapit Sisid, where her classes benefit the country’s scientific diving and marine conservation communities. Tara is also a co-inventor of a patented device designed for monitoring coral reefs.
